Meet Me in the Tower

My first novella, written in one day during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. This book exemplifies my longing for normal life.

20-year-old Yves is a Fine Arts major at Visionaire International University. His life is pretty average until he meets Trygve: a pierced, tattooed bad boy whose passion and ambition are every bit as enticing as his mysterious background. Get ready to embark on a beer- and drug-fueled adventure that takes you through sauce gradients, parties in the forest, random encounters, trve kvlt metal playlists, and...maybe even romance?

More Birds than Usual: A Bisexual Metal Love Story

This is the first book that took me more than a day to write. I was nervous, because I have a notoriously low attention span, but I'm glad I challenged myself to draw out the process a little more, well, than usual. ;D This book was written in 2021, when I was still lusting after normal life.

When nonbinary metalhead Leigh goes to the concert of a mysterious, anonymous local band, they have no idea just how life-changing the event will be. After one whirlwind, 12-hour date with tall, anxious rocker Sage, Leigh is immensely intrigued. But Sage has a secret - one which, if revealed, could disrupt his budding relationship with Leigh...and maybe even rock the foundation of his entire life.

2 stories intertwine as Sage and Leigh grow closer. Will the truth destroy the bonds they've built?

Thirst Trap: A Vampire Novella

I wrote the outline for Thirst Trap over several days, fueled by listening to "Right Into the Bliss" by Katatonia on repeat. My wrists hurt the whole time I was writing this and I ended up having to go out and buy a wrist brace halfway through, at which point, a random person at CVS inspired the character of Providenza. Shoutout to that random person at CVS.

I wrote Thirst Trap in January 2022, but it wasn't seen by the public until September of the same year due to a series of unfortunate events. This was the first time I hired a professional editor. The editing process for this book was brutal, but I learned a lot, and it led to a much more polished work than I'd ever written before. There will be a sequel eventually.

Niko is 20 years old and about to start college when a chance encounter changes everything. At a random barn party, Niko accidentally drinks the blood of a vampire and soon crashes head-first into a nocturnal world, hidden deep in the city. They quickly realize they have no choice but to accept their new life.

But things aren’t all bad. Niko’s new immortality comes with eternal youth and beauty, cool purple eyes, an escape from the drudgery of capitalism, infinite time to party, and…love?

Storm Season: A Novella about Love, Fear, and Death Metal

This is the longest book I’ve written so far. I wrote it in the Spring/Summer of 2023 while dealing with a particularly severe bout of astraphobia. It’s the closest thing to an autobiography that I’ve ever written, although things go off the rails about halfway through.

Oliver is 27 years old, nonbinary, and stagnating, both in their career and in their love life. That is, until a fateful ghosting leads to them reuniting with Gaines, an old high school friend with whom they have unfinished business. Gaines is recently divorced and has gotten back to doing what he loves: drumming in Pissanthropy, a local death metal band. When the estranged friends reunite, memories resurface and their feelings towards each other evolve from friendship to something deeper. All signs are pointing toward a profound change, but a medical mystery and a tornado warning complicate Oliver and Gaines' renewed connection.

My Careful Fingertips, Your Heavy Eyelids: A Ghost Love Story and Murder Mystery

The idea for what would become My Careful Fingertips, Your Heavy Eyelids first came to me in January 2024 when I ate dinner at a struggling Cici’s Pizza location and the cashier was gorgeous. On my way out, I made a note to myself that just said "Hear me out: cute guys working in run down places."

The setting was inspired by an arcade I used to frequent (I miss you, Mad Mad Whirled!)

Halfway through writing this story, I wasn't sure where it was going, but then "Queen of the Haunted Dell" by Saidan came up on my playlist and I was newly inspired to write a ghost story/murder mystery. Everything fell into place naturally from that point onward.

This is the last book I wrote in my old home, the duplex where I lived for years, including the entire lockdown era. I actually had to put my writing on pause for a few hours while I went to check out the house I ended up moving into a month later! So this book marks a massive transition in my real life. It’s the first book I started writing in one home and finished in another.

Nonbinary translator Parker has a date lined up with a guy named Adrian. They're supposed to meet at an arcade, but the day comes and Adrian doesn't show up. Parker is disappointed but ends up hitting it off with Linden, the only employee in the otherwise empty business.

Later on, an apologetic Adrian asks Parker to give him a second chance. They agree— if anything, just to see what the hell this guy's deal is. On Adrian and Parker's first actual date at a café, Adrian reveals the real reason he ghosted Parker the first time:

The arcade has been closed for a year, following the murder of an employee.

Named Linden.

But discovering Linden is dead is just the beginning. Will Parker find out what's keeping Linden on Earth? Will they be able to help Linden rest in peace? And will anyone believe Parker in the first place?
